Individuals who wish to present a paper or poster at the meeting should submit this via the APA website (http://www.rcoa.ac.uk/apagbi/) using the word document template provided on the site. Preference for poster or oral presentation should be made.
The submission must arrive no later than 31st January 2008. Late submissions and formats other than that on the document template will not be accepted. Acknowledgement of receipt of the abstract will be made by email (email contact must be given in the abstract checklist). Abstracts will then be blinded and judged by 3 reviewers. Details of the submission format are given below.
All oral presentations will be made by assisted computer projection. We suggest using good colour contrast for best results. Presentations should be formatted for PC and forwarded to the AV organizer on CD or disc. We will inform authors of abstracts selected for poster or oral presentation as soon as they have been judged. Instructions will be sent to authors of those abstracts accepted for presentation.

Guide to Authors
Abstracts for the Annual Scientific Meeting should be submitted via the APA website using the word document template. Follow the instructions carefully and fill in all the fields as asked.
Ensure that the electronic submission has been made by 31st January 2008. Late entries will not be accepted.
• Insert text using single line spacing, Times New Roman 10-12 point font. Use all the fields and ensure the blinded abstract has been completed on page 3
• The text of the abstract should follow the instructions to authors in
Pediatric Anesthesia. Headings may be used as appropriate: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, References.
• A statement must be included indicating that Ethics Committee approval was obtained where appropriate.
• References should be in the Vancouver style.
• Use a blank line to separate paragraphs.
• If a figure is used, it should be of a suitable size and embedded within the text of the abstract keeping within the limits of the document template
• You must acknowledge any source of financial support at the end of the abstract.
• If you are submitting your abstract for poster presentation, please note that the final format will be A0
• Print off a final copy and send this to Professor Wolf at the address opposite with a covering letter signed by all authors stating that you wish to present the paper and that the study received Ethics Committee approval where appropriate. You should disclose any conflicts of interest, corporate involvement, patent holdings etc. You should indicate if the presenting author is a trainee, as the paper will then be considered automatically for the trainee prize. Finally ensure that FULL contact details (address, day-time telephone number, fax, email) are supplied, as these may be required in the case of a late change in the programme. An email will be sent to the author's email address to acknowledge receipt of the abstract.
