How to become a member

The APA has a current membership of over a 1000 including an overseas body.

Full Membership of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland is open to all substantive consultant anaesthetists in the UK, Eire and Overseas with a stated interest in paediatric anaesthesia or medical practitioners with an interest in paediatric anaesthesia.

Affiliate Membership is open to UK based locum consultants, staff grade and associate specialist anaesthetists and medical practitioners with an interest in paediatric anaesthesia who contribute to the aims of the company.

Trainee membership is open to UK and Ireland based Specialist Registrars and trainees in other specialities with an interest in paediatric anaesthesia who contribute to the aims of the company.

Members enjoy a complimentary subscription to the journal Pediatric Anesthesia.

If you wish to become a member of the APA please click on the appropriate link below to download an application form. Please print this off and send the completed form to the Honorary Secretary at the address on the form. We will be offering a direct electronic solution for joining the APA very soon.

The membership fee will increase in 2025 to £110 per year for Consultant members and £73 for trainee members.

This only represents a modest 3% raise for the last 5 years. We haven't increased the annual fee since before Covid and we resisted increasing it for the last 2 years due to the inflation and cost of living situations in UK. The fees still represent very good value for the educational resources, subsidised link meetings and other online educational sessions run throughout the year.
