Surveys of APAGBI members are peer reviewed by the Scientific Committee to ensure methodological quality and to minimise survey burden. Proposals are accepted on a scheduled basis, with the timetable and template published on this page. Outcomes from each cycle will be communicated to applicants.
What to submit
Please send a single Word document that includes:
- Background, aims and target population
- Sampling frame, recruitment method and inclusion criteria
- The full questionnaire or interview schedule (append as an annex)
- Piloting plan and expected response rate, with strategies to reduce bias
- Consent wording and data protection statement, including storage and retention
- Analysis and dissemination plan, including intended abstracts or publications
- Names and roles of the investigators and any competing interests
If you intend to use an online platform (for example MS Forms, Google Forms, Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey), it is the submitter’s responsibility to provide a working preview link for the survey instrument before dissemination to the APAGBI membership.
Review process and outcomes
Submissions are screened and then peer reviewed by Scientific Committee reviewers with experience in survey methods and statistics. Decisions will be one of the following:
· Approved for circulation to the APAGBI membership.
· Approve with revisions, with specific methodological changes requested.
· Declined, with reasons provided, usually to prevent duplication or excessive member burden.
Approved surveys are distributed via APAGBI channels. On completion, investigators are expected to share a brief results summary with the Scientific Committee and, where appropriate, provide a link to outputs for the archive.
